      <image:title>John's Journal - 40 Years Later…</image:title>
<image:caption>After many years “on the road” as a musician I arrived back home in NJ and began training again in earnest. The style is called Soo Bahk Do, a Korean style and similar to the Tai Kwon Do that many recognize. I am now an Ee Dan, or 2nd degree black belt. The Soo Bahk Do Moo Duk Kwan is a world-wide organization of some of the greatest people I have ever known. The quality control is next to none. There is a lot to be said here, but I’ll go one step at a time. That’s me on the right. We are being led by the highest level instructor in our studio, Sa Bom Nim Lydia Chu, a 5th degree in our art. More to come.</image:caption>

      <image:title>5-string Banjo - 5-String Banjo Lessons</image:title>
<image:caption>I first heard bluegrass banjo emanating from the tinny radio speaker of my 1956 black and white enamel Ford Crown Victoria back in the mid-60’s. I became an instant and life-long bluegrass fan and was determined to learn how to play that style. Soon afterward, I had an opportunity to meet the great bluegrass fiddle player, Ben “Tex” Logan, at a music session. We became lifelong friends and I still think of Tex as my spiritual “bluegrass mentor.” My life has been a series of the right people showing up at the right time!
